Issue affecting some users.
PEACH users will need to be aware of access issues as a result of a recently applied Microsoft security patch (KB2585542). If anyone encounters the error messages HTTP501 or HTTP505, or Not Supported Method, then they should contact their own I.T. providers to assess the best way of having this patch removed.
For operational reasons it may not however be possible to permanently remove the patch.
If that is the case, then the following method should be considered: in the browser, open the Tools menu, select Internet Options and then the Advanced tab. Near the bottom of the list of options is TLS 1.0. Untick this box and restart the browser. (If TLS 1.1 and 1.2 are present these can remain ticked).
Both Microsoft and Defra's I.T. provider (IBM) are working towards a resolution of this issue. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that has been caused.
Notice of future interruptions to service
Wednesday the 25th January we have been advised of some work on the network that may affect PEACH users between 20.30 and 20.40. The PEACH system and other Defra systems will not be available during this 10 minute period while an update to the network is made.
If users experience any further difficulties at that time, then please contact the PEACH helpdesk.
Saturday 28th January we have been advised of work to update the network between 08.00 and 20.00, during this time and for a short period only PEACH users may be logged off the system during a session, but they will be able to immediately log back into the system.
Again if users experience further difficulties at that time, then please contact the PEACH helpdesk.

Plant Health checks at Heathrow airport.
High Risk Material Subject to Plant Health Checks at Heathrow Airport
As from 7th November 2011 some high risk plant material entering through Heathrow will be selected for inspection, and the PEACH application will not be passed until a physical examination has taken place. This may mean that material arriving in the late evening or early morning is held over until the Heathrow Fera office reopens at 06.00. Such material will then be inspected as a priority.
If an application is ‘turned red’ this should be accepted as official notification that the material must be inspected prior to it entering free circulation. If the application is subsequently amended and auto-released, the associated products should remain at an approved inspection point until it has been examined.
